About this property

Backstage Chalet in Zermatt is a beautiful blend of traditional Valais architecture with contemporary design, accommodating 10-11 guests across its 5 bedrooms. This refurbished farmhouse was modernised and extended in line with the chalet-like nature of the building, and offers a 320m² cutting-edge home with some wonderful wellness features.

The cosy open-plan living area of Backstage Chalet, located in the attic extension, consists of a kitchen, dining area and lounge. This extension has been constructed exclusively from local larch and designed to include large areas of glass, providing a spectacular 360° panoramic view over the village and towards the Matterhorn. While modern in design, the chalet still showcases a traditional aesthetic, with vaulted ceilings and visible wooden beams throughout. A wood-burning fireplace in the lounge ensures guests are warm throughout their stay. Naturally, all the furniture and furnishings have been developed and manufactured in the Heinz Julen studio in Zermatt. The chalet is also equipped with contemporary art from Zermatt's art rooms. The living areas focus on cosiness and tradition, blended with a modern-day flair, in an impressive manner, making you instantly feel at home. The chalet also features balcony areas extending to almost all angles.

Backstage Chalet includes a number of fantastic spa facilities. The architect Heinz Julen has devised and built a spectacular whirlpool hot tub - a fascinatingly unique feat of engineering. The hot tub accommodates up to 6 people, and at the press of a button the roof opens and the pool is hydraulically lifted above the chalet! The view from above is truly breathtaking, making the experience unlike any other you can find in Zermatt. A sauna and Hammam are available for guests to rehabilitate and rejuvenate after a long day of skiing. For an additional workout, a fitness area is available to keep guests in top form for the slopes.

Down on its lowest floor, Backstage Chalet has a cosy TV lounge, equipped with a cinema projector and office space. This can also be adapted into a children's playroom, for those on a family ski holiday to Zermatt.

Backstage Chalet can accommodate 10-11 guests across its 5 en-suite bedrooms. The bedrooms are spread over two floors. The bedrooms all follow a similar, stylish, contemporary design as the rest of the chalet, installing plush bedding and modern furniture to ensure comfort for guests in their home away from home. The chalet has 5 double bedrooms, one of them containing a mezzanine with an extra bed, making it ideal for an additional child. All bedrooms have the use of en-suite shower rooms.

During the week, the spa area of the Backstage Hotel, a wonderful wellness space, based on the creation story in the Book of Genesis, is available for guest use. This spa area offers a mixture of therapies with steam rooms, saunas, hot tubs, and relaxation spaces that journey you through the seven days of creation.

For added convenience, the chalet has a ski room with boot warmers, an elevator, and laundry facilities.

Prices are based on exclusive use of the chalet for up to 10 guests and is offered with full gourmet catering, complimentary drinks bar, daily housekeeping, in-resort electro-taxi on arrival & departure, and use of the Backstage Hotel Spa.

The chalet is also available on a bed and breakfast basis with daily breakfast, daily housekeeping, in-resort electro-taxi on arrival & departure, and use of the Backstage Hotel Spa.

The chalet is also available on a self catered basis with daily housekeeping, in-resort electro-taxi on arrival & departure, and use of the Backstage Hotel Spa.

One additional guest may be accommodated on request, please enquire. Additional services are available on request.
