## About Mitchell Fortress

Mitchell Fortress is a rare Caribbean gem-originally a 17th-century stronghold, now beautifully restored as a 4-bedroom villa steeped in history. Once used by the British to fend off Spanish invaders and pirates, its thick stone walls still feature gun slots, with two restored cannons standing proudly on the lawn. A half-million-dollar renovation has brought the property into the modern day, blending Italian floors, crisp white fabrics, and imported European furnishings with the villa’s historic charm. All bedrooms are ensuite with sleek Grohe fixtures, double vanities, glass-wall showers, flat-screen TVs, and either air conditioning or refreshing sea breezes. The estate is split between the Main House and the Schoolhouse. The Main House offers inviting lounges with beamed ceilings, a book-lined dining area for twelve, and a cosy bar. Upstairs bedrooms open to ocean-view balconies. The 1953 Schoolhouse, just 60 feet away, has a living room and three ensuite bedrooms-two upstairs and one at beach level, ideal for grandparents or a second family. Outdoors, a stone veranda is perfect for sunset drinks or alfresco dining. The gardener sets chaises in sun or shade on request, and just offshore lies a vibrant reef for snorkeling. Guests also enjoy sea kayaks, beach toys, table tennis, volleyball, and access to a nearby tennis court. Added perks include a horseback ride and a jitney tour of Prospect Estate. Set on a stunning beach minutes from Ocho Rios, Mitchell Fortress is a unique blend of history, luxury, and Caribbean beauty-a holiday you’ll never forget.
